cordless power tools
sc93 asked:

I need a power drill (preferably corded but cordless is okay too) to drill through light metal. I need it to drill/make little holes on the top of 1:18 scale model die-cast police cars for the light bars. Can you please recommend one? I don’t need a high end drill or one with many pieces and tools. I just need one with a tip that will drill through light metal. I am thinking of buying one from eBay but a cheap new one is good too. Thanks!!
What size!!!!!?????

it sounds like you need a very small hole

get a dremel
it’s like a den’tist’s tool, with little bits for metals.
and most hardware stores carry the bits and the dremels themselves

and this one looks pretty good,
they come corded and more expensive, but this should work

The other guy is right. Buy a Dremel tool. I make alot of jewelry and I use it for very intricate pieces. the drill size wont be much of a matter with the Dremel. If you go to like Lowe’s, you can see all the various dril bits and then just pick one that fits the size of the holes you need.

I would go visit a good HOBBY shop, and ask for a pin-vise drill !!

Here is a sample, and it’s only $8

At a store, you’ll get a set of bits to go with it for $5 - 10.

MUCH cheaper than a Dremel tool, and more accurate.

GOOD LUCK

I would say get the pin vise with a set of good bit’s there’s cheap ones’ around but don’t last I use Dremel bit’s they last longer. And a power tool as well. after a hour or so my hands start hurting, try the cordless. If you build lots of Die cast and do a lot of extra work the power drill will be faster, start with a pilot hole/pin vise with tiny bit and work up too a larger size. Dreamel as well that has different setting’s. That’s the best I can think of.
