I need a power drill (preferably corded but cordless is okay too) to drill through light metal. I need it to drill/make little holes on the top of 1:18 scale model die-cast police cars for the light bars. Can you please recommend one? I don’t need a high end drill or one with many pieces and tools. I just need one with a tip that will drill through light metal. I am thinking of buying one from eBay but a cheap new one is good too. Thanks!!
What size!!!!!?????

I have many electronic devices and cordless tools that have chargers. If I left the chargers plugged in when not charging devices, how much power if any is being consumed?

I’m looking to buy a lithium battery powered cordless drill. I am impress with the Hitachi brand (price/value). I am using this around the house, but I want enough drill to never be limited. Still I have been told that an 18volt drill is over kill, but weight and size was I don’t see much difference between the 14.4 and the 18 volt. My thought would be to get the 18 volt (regardless of excess voltage need) since the nice lithium 18volt batteries will be interchangeable with other Hitachi tools which all seem to be 18v. Is this the correct line of thinking correct? Or is it just too much drill for my needs? And what does that even mean? Any Help?

I just need to put up some blinds from Ikea.

I live in Boston and the moldings (mouldings?) in this apartment are old hardwood. The walls are plaster. I have a hard time hanging anything.

I just spent forty-five minutes trying to get six screws into the window moldings. Three of the screws broke. One was stripped. The others went in, but took forever.

I am using an inexpensive cordless drill from Black and Decker. I tried changing the bit (both a larger and a smaller one): no luck.

What is going on?? Is my drill too cheap? Is the wood too hard? I asked the man at the hardware store today, and he said that as long as it wasn’t metal (it’s definitiely wood), the screw “should go right in.” I haven’t used power tools since I used to build sets in high school, but I don’t remember having this much trouble with such a basic project.

Help!!

I’m a big Do-It-Yourselfer and am in the market for some new cordless power tools. I’ve always trusted Dewalt tools, but have read a bunch of reviews lately and it seems as though their products might have dropped in quality. Has anyone had an experience with the recent Dewalt products? Also, are there any other brands you would recommend?

Hello Helpful People,

I have a corded lawn mower (Black & Decker 19″ Electric LAWNHOG™ Mulching Mower) and many of the 18v DeWalt power tools. I would love to run my lawn mower on one of my 18v DeWalt batteries. I know B&D makes a new 24v cordless lawn mower but the one I have is in great condition and I don’t want to shell out another $450 just to run cordless.

My yard is not all that big and should be able to run on the 18v if I can find a conversion kit.

Does anyone know if anyone makes this? I have searched a few different keywords but not getting any of the results that I am after.

thanks so much!
-Doug

I found this grass trimmer here:

http://www.worxyardtools.com/garden-tools/cordless-grass-trimmer.html

It’s called a Worx GT, and I’m considering buying it. However, what are other gardeners opinions of electric grass trimmers? Do they have the same power, are they environmentally cleaner?
